Chrisman Studios is a boutique of four photographers and one videographer who first and foremost love a good story, no matter what the occasion may be. We find everyone we meet fascinating, beautiful and worthy of artwork that shows exactly who they are. We are dedicated to giving you photographs and films that celebrate your life, inspire your friends and make your parents proud.
Based in Charleston, San Francisco, Santa Fe and Italy, we can get to any adventure you’re planning. Our weddings and portrait sessions have taken us to Iceland, Spain, Mexico, Mongolia, Bali, Jamaica, Bhutan, Italy, Canada, Thailand, Bermuda, Venezuela, Colombia, Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Greece, Turks and Caicos, England, Bora Bora, Israel, Guatemala and on an island off the coast of Maine so remote it required four different modes of transportation to get there. So whether your occasion is on an exotic beach or in your parents’ backyard, we would love to be there for you.

After living in Santa Fe, Atlanta and San Francisco, Ben and Erin now call Charleston their home. When they decided to have a child, they made the big cross-country move from San Francisco to Charleston to be close to Erin's family. Ben, Erin and their daughter Roxy live in downtown Charleston and love getting to explore this historic city through the weddings and portrait sessions they photograph.
Raised in San Francisco, but born in China, Ryan is fluent in five languages. He is our guy when someone needs a San Francisco engagement session or portrait session anywhere in Northern California. Ryan knows San Francisco inside and out and can recommend some amazing locations. He lives in Daly City with his wife, Bonnie, and their young son, Nolan.
Mauricio is from Nicaragua, and has also lived in San Francisco and Charleston. But when he fell in love with an Italian photographer (Alice, who is now his wife!), he felt the pull to move to Italy full-time. He and Alice live in the Dolomites region of Northern Italy, just a couple hours north of Venice. Mauricio is a true world traveler, and loves the adventure of being so close to everything in Europe.
Santa Fe is a photographer's dreamworld. Nothing compares to the crisp, warm light, adobe architecture and wide-open skies. We all jump at any chance to photograph a Santa Fe wedding. Our videographer Vlad is available to film a wedding anywhere in the world, but if you're lucky enough to be getting married in Santa Fe, he's already there, where he lives with his wife, Rachel, and daughter, Mira.
